Luise stages the perfect influencer life on Instagram: dancing at Coachella, baby shower for her baby twins, Starbucks Frappucchinos - always to go. But Luise is no living person - she is a barbiedoll and her Insta-glam origins in the Black Forest, Germany. Behind the scenes the sisters Eva-Julie and Desiree are running six Barbie Accounts on Instagram. Two of them rank among the top ten of their kind, each with more than 30.000 followers. Together, the two sisters create a whole universe around their doll protagonists.
Their digital imaginary tells a continuous life story that feels so real and therefore reads almost as parody to our real life.

I wanted to look behind the scenes and write Luise on instagram. Who manages this instagram? A lonely catlady, that wants to be part of the glamourous media world? A mum from Ludwigsburg, that doesn’t want to post pictures of her and her family open for everyone and recreates the pictures and now stages the whole life with barbies? An artstudent? A Dad, who wasn’t allowed to play with dolls as a child? The PR- Team of a toy company?
